The academic Senate of FBM Bratislava is the self-governing representative body of the UE. The activities of the academic Senate of the Faculty is governed by the Act on higher education no 131/2002, as amended.

 

The Composition Of The Academic Senate

Academic Senate of the Faculty of Business Management is divided into the employee section, which consists of 10 members and the student section, which consists of 5 students. The members of the employee section are elected by direct secret voting by members of the academic community of the Faculty of Business Management. Members of the student section of the Academic Senate shall be elected in secret voting by members of the student section of the academic community.

The scope of the Academic Senate

The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Business Management of the UE in Bratislava:

  1. approves the internal regulations on the proposal of the Dean of the Faculty,
  2. elects a candidate for the Dean of the Faculty or proposes a removal from the post and approves the proposal of the Rector on the removal of the Dean,
  3. approves the proposal of the Dean for appointing and removing the vice-deans,
  4. approves the proposal of the Dean for appointing and removing members of the Scientific Committee of the Faculty,
  5. approves the draft budget submitted by the Dean of the Faculty, and supervises the management of the funds of the Faculty,
  6. approves the long-term intention of the Faculty, drawn up in accordance with the long-term goal of the UE in Bratislava, presented by the Dean of the Faculty after the consultation at the Scientific Committee along with the update
  7. approves the annual activity report and the annual management report presented by the Dean of the Faculty,
  8. prior to the approval by the Scientific Committee in Bratislava, the proposal of study programs, which should be carried out by the Faculty, submitted by the Dean, will be debated,
  9. approves further requirements for admission of study programs conducted by the Faculty, submitted by the Dean,
  10. they make an expression on the Dean’s proposal for the establishment, merger, division, or dissolvement of the departments of the Faculty,
  11. they elect a representative of the Faculty for the Committee of the Universities,
  12. Once a year, they give a Faculty report to the academic community on their activities,
  13. they make an expression on the Rector’s proposals for the transfer of property or the setting up an easement, or a pre-emption right for the property that is used to perform the tasks of the Faculty prior to its submission for approval to the academic Senate of the public university.
