ConSIMium: A Simulation of EU Council Negotiations

The event is organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, and its partner in Slovakia is the Slovak Rectors’ Conference. The project aims to deepen the knowledge and develop the skills of college students, promote partnerships with European institutions, involve partners in building a European civic space, and foster an understanding of political processes within the EU.

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Citizenship of an EU member state;
  2. Undergraduate students in their third year of a bachelor’s program or master’s students during the 2025/26 academic year;
  3. Diversity of academic fields of study;
  4. Good academic performance and merit, as demonstrated by a resume and a statement of purpose. Successful participation in student research and academic activities (ŠVOČ), active volunteer work, and similar activities are encouraged;
  5. Gender and regional balance;
    Proficiency in at least two official EU languages, including English (English at least at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of
  6. Reference for Languages—CEFR);
  7. Public speaking, presentation, and communication skills (“soft skills”);
  8. Understanding of and interest in EU affairs (as demonstrated in the cover letter);
  9. Willingness to share feedback on the activity with the SRK.
