For 12 years now, the Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava has been offering a unique course titled CORPORATE CONTROLLING.
And what makes this course so unique, original, and, above all, sustainable? It is jointly organized by two outstanding leaders in sustainability: ESET s.r.o., a recipient of multiple awards for ethics and sustainability, and the Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava, a leader in ethical management among universities in Slovakia.
Second-year students had the opportunity to take this elective course directly at the company’s headquarters in Aupark Tower
ESET s.r.o. adheres to socially responsible and environmentally sustainable management practices at all its branches in more than 200 countries, and its parent company in Bratislava also reports on ESG performance as part of its financial controlling in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with a current, practice-oriented corporate controlling system as applied in the specific context of a Slovak multinational corporation with branches in Europe, North and South America, Asia, and the Pacific. At the same time, the course focuses on understanding the role of corporate controlling as an effective tool for financial management and sustainable management.
The lectures focused on the following topics:
Start of the semester—introductory lecture (original title: Tools, Methods, and Functions of Corporate Controlling at ESET as an Original Economic and Management System of a Multinational Slovak Corporation.
Integrated reporting under CSRD, ESG management and reporting in a corporate entity, including ICT.
Sales controlling
The organizational structure of corporate controlling within an international corporate structure. The corporation’s planning and budgeting process.
Financial controlling. Receivables controlling and financing of the ESET Group
Transfer pricing and tax policy within the ESET Group.
Individual financial statements in accordance with SAS as part of the corporate controlling system. Consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS as part of the corporate controlling system.

Martin Balušík, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Mgr. Gabriela Dubcová, Ph.D., and is coordinated by Ing. Ľubica Foltínová, Ph.D.
