The EUBA Faculty of Business Management supports lifelong learning for seniors throughout Slovakia
More than 350 older students received certificates of successful completion of a two-year program, which culminated in a final exam and a graduation ceremony.
The Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava has long played an active role in the field of education for seniors and, in the 2024–2025 academic year, offered several degree programs. The study program “It’s Never Too Late to Start Something New” was implemented in cooperation with the cities of Levice, Partizánske, and Topoľčany, and seniors’ interest in these regional forms of education is growing every year. In Bratislava, the faculty organized the “Information Technology and Computer Literacy for Seniors” program, thereby addressing the need for digital inclusion even among older adults.
The graduation ceremony was attended by distinguished guests and university officials, including EUBA Rector Ferdinand Daňo, Vice Rector Zuzana Juhászová, Dean of the Faculty of Business Management Anita Romanová, and Vice Dean Vladimír Bolek, who also serves as the program director for one of UTV’s degree programs. Also present were representatives of local governments and partner institutions from various cities—including the mayors of Levice, Topoľčany, and Piešťany, as well as the deputy mayor of Partizánske.
The speeches were filled with words of appreciation and admiration for the seniors’ perseverance and desire to continue learning. As Rector Daňo said:
“Aging is nothing more than a bad habit that an active person has no time for.”
The story of these seniors, who decided to return to the classroom after many years, is proof that learning knows no age limits. As the guests also remarked:
“You are a positive example for society as a whole. We are proud of you.”
The EUBA Faculty of Business Management values the opportunity to be part of this exceptional project and will continue to expand its activities in the field of lifelong learning.
