The first meeting of the ForYouth project partners took place on September 9–10, 2025, in the Romanian city of Alba Iulia.
The event welcomed representatives from seven regions with the aim of exchanging experiences, presenting best practices, and discussing the involvement of young people in decision-making processes.
Mayor Gabriel Pleșa opened the meeting, followed by a presentation of the city’s youth initiatives. The morning session featured five inspiring local examples:
Mihnea Costachi Chess Academy—chess as both a sport and a tool for social cohesion.
Skepsis Group—a theater association that has been nurturing young talent for 23 years.
Alba Iulia—Youth Capital 2026—strategies connecting youth, NGOs, and local government.
“Trial Companies”—simulated entrepreneurship at the Academy of Economics.
Europe Goes Local—an initiative strengthening youth work professionals.
In the afternoon, partners presented their approaches:
Šibenik (HR) – a youth program incorporating innovative tools.
Beira Baixa (PT) – City Youth Week combining education, culture, and volunteering.
Storfors (SE) – dialogue between students and politicians to develop democratic skills.
Murcia (ES) – a wide range of activities and counseling services for youth.
Magdeburg (DE) – inclusive playgrounds developed in collaboration with children.
Sireți (MD) – a youth center and an annual participatory camp.
The second day was dedicated to knowledge sharing and project management. The partners attended a seminar led by the University of Economics in Bratislava and a steering committee meeting. The event concluded with an interactive performance by the Skepsis theater troupe.
