The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a prestigious global competition that offers university students in economics and finance a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics.
The competition is organized by CFA Society Slovakia with the support of experienced industry mentors. Participants step into the shoes of financial analysts, work with real-world data, and compete against other teams at both national and international levels.
The competition is considered the "Olympics" of investment banking and financial analysis.
Over the course of several months, our students worked on a detailed fundamental analysis, requiring them to conduct an in-depth assessment of a specific publicly traded company.
This year, they secured 3rd place with the expert support of Michal Samko:
Ivana Tisajová
Richard Kováč
Tomáš Ďaďo
Ivan Dočekal
The students had to gain a detailed understanding of the company's business model, assess its competitive advantages, and—based on financial modeling and projections of future cash flows—estimate its future trajectory. The outcome of their efforts was a clear investment recommendation: a verdict on whether investors should buy, sell, or hold the company's shares.
They subsequently defended their findings before a panel of judges comprising leading finance professionals who hold the prestigious CFA designation.
We are proud of you and deeply appreciate the time and energy you invested in your preparation!
