On March 19 and 20, 2026, the Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business—based in Jindřichův Hradec—hosted the 9th meeting of the Association of Deans of Faculties of Economics.

The meeting of representatives from leading economics faculties in the Czech Republic provided a platform for sharing experiences, engaging in expert discussions on current challenges in higher education, and fostering informal interactions within the academic community.

The professional program opened with a lecture by Prof. Mgr. Jaroslav Miller, M.A., Ph.D., Chair of the Council of the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education, focusing on recent changes to accreditation standards.

This was followed by a discussion on experiences with the implementation of academic positions and higher education sector reform in Slovakia, led by representatives from the University of Economics in Bratislava: Assoc. Prof. Ing. Anita Romanová, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, and Assoc. Prof. Ing. Vladimír Bolek, PhD., MBA, Vice-Dean for Education.

"We are pleased to have had the opportunity to actively present experiences from the Slovak context at this significant professional forum and to participate in the discussion regarding ongoing higher education reforms."

A major part of the program consisted of a joint discussion among association members, addressing current topics resonating throughout the academic community. Participants explored issues such as multiple academic affiliations, expected developments in follow-up master's degree programs, staff evaluation, the establishment of "exit strategies," and questions of institutional resilience—including cybersecurity and the influence of external actors.

The meeting also served to strengthen cooperation between economics faculties in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We view participation in this meeting as an important opportunity to exchange experiences, establish professional contacts, and actively engage in shaping the future of economic education in our region.
