For the second time, the Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava is participating in the prestigious "ROZINVESTUJ SA, SLOVENSKO" (Start Investing, Slovakia) conference organized by the TA3 television station. Following a successful event in Bratislava in January, the conference is expanding to the regions; the April edition took place in Starý Smokovec.
The goal of the conference series is to bring financial education, investment literacy, and economic topics closer to people across Slovakia. The event provides a platform for expert discussions, the sharing of practical experience, and the exchange of views among the academic, public, and private sectors.
Anita Romanová, Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, accepted an invitation to join a panel discussion titled "Financial and Technical Literacy for the 21st Century: What Works and What Doesn't."
The aim of the panel discussion was to outline answers to current questions:
- Why financial literacy in Slovakia has long been insufficient
- How to effectively educate different generations
- The integration of financial, technical, and digital education
- Practical habits for better financial decision-making
- The role of schools, institutions, and technology in education
The panel also featured other prominent representatives from academia and professional practice, including Ján Papula (Vice-Dean for Quality and Public Relations, Faculty of Management, Comenius University Bratislava), Michal Mešťan (Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica), Marek Malina (Secretary General of the Construction Industry Association of Slovakia), and Júlia Čillíková (Executive Director of the Supervision and Financial Consumer Protection Department, National Bank of Slovakia).
The participation of the Faculty of Business Management in this conference underscores its long-standing commitment to bridging education with professional practice and actively engaging in discussions on key economic and societal issues.
