The Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava is carrying out the AI-ImpactSK research project, which is funded by the European Union as part of the Slovak Republic’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (NextGenerationEU).

The goal of the project is to systematically examine the extent to which artificial intelligence (AI) is used by companies operating in Slovakia and to analyze the factors that influence its implementation in business practice. The project responds to the growing importance of artificial intelligence as a key element of digital transformation, innovation potential, and the competitiveness of companies in a global environment.

AI-ImpactSK represents an interdisciplinary research framework that integrates insights from the fields of economics, management, information technology, and data science. It focuses not only on the technological aspects of AI implementation but also on its broader economic and organizational implications, including its impact on business performance, market dynamics, and economic policymaking.

The project includes the conduct of extensive empirical research aimed at:

  • mapping the current state of AI use in Slovak companies,
  • identifying areas of artificial intelligence application in practice,
  • analyze companies’ readiness to implement AI (including technological, organizational, and cultural aspects),
  • examine the perceived benefits and risks associated with the use of AI,
  • and identify barriers that hinder the wider adoption of AI solutions.

The project also addresses the lack of systematic and representative data on the adoption of artificial intelligence in the Slovak business environment. The research findings will provide valuable insights for businesses when making decisions about investments in digital technologies, as well as for public policymakers when designing measures to support innovation and digital transformation.

An important part of the project is also outreach and educational activities, including the organization of professional events and webinars that bridge the gap between academia and industry and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about the use of artificial intelligence in various sectors.

This series of webinars offers a unique opportunity to gain up-to-date insights directly from industry experts who specialize in topics such as:

  • cybersecurity,
  • the use of artificial intelligence in business processes,
  • digital transformation of businesses,
  • practical experiences and barriers associated with the implementation of AI solutions.

The webinars are intended for anyone interested in modern technologies and their practical applications in business. The program will be updated on an ongoing basis.
