ESG management training at the Faculty of Business Management, in cooperation with Lyra Group s.r.o. and Beko Manufacturing Slovakia s.r.o.

During the 2025/2026 academic year, we conducted ESG management training for fifth-year students alongside faculty members Assoc. Prof. Gabriela Dubcová, PhD., and Ing. Ľubica Foltínová, PhD., from the Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA). The training took place at the premises of Lyra Group s.r.o. and Beko Manufacturing Slovakia s.r.o.

The training featured a highly engaging program comprising an internship, a site visit, a discussion forum, and a colloquium-style defense of a final case study. The goal was to demonstrate to students the practical application of ethical principles and ESG concepts within the modern management of a leading multinational company—one operating well beyond just the European continent.

The program spanned two days and included a variety of interesting activities, lectures, and discussions:

  • On the first day, students met with members of top management for lectures focused on ESG management, corporate governance, and responsible business practices within the company's specific production environment.
  • The second day began with a tour of the facilities during active production, featuring explanations of the technological processes involved in ensuring sustainable production. This was followed by the development of case studies, and the training concluded with presentations, defenses, and discussions involving a panel of experts from EUBA and the company.

We extend our sincere thanks to the senior management of Lyra Group spol. s r.o. (Ivanka pri Nitre)—specifically Karol Stýblo (Managing Director and CEO) and Dezider Mészáros (Marketing Director)—and Beko Manufacturing Slovakia spol. s r.o.—specifically Jaroslav Grygar (Managing Director and Senior Manager, Business HR & WEEC) and Michal Major (Plant Director)—for their excellent co-organization of the ESG training. We also thank all the colleagues who contributed to the success (including the co-financing) of this engaging educational and dissemination-focused part of the semester. We also acknowledge Peter Ďumbala from the B2B department at Generali for securing funding for student insurance.

The event was held as part of the VEGA project 1/0120/25, "Research into the paradigms and determinants of ESG management and implementation processes within the context of required corporate financial performance and changes resulting from the CSRD directive."

From this training, students gained not only professional knowledge but also valuable experience and inspiration for the future, emphasizing the importance of ethical principles in ESG management and their integration into daily business processes. It is important to continue offering such engaging educational opportunities for future students.
