The Faculty of Business Management at the University of Economics in Bratislava, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, has successfully organized a course titled “Attributes of Entrepreneurship in International Practice” for the fourth time.
During the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, students at the FPM EUBA had the opportunity to take this elective course. The aim of the course was to familiarize students with how businesses operate abroad through representative institutions—various embassies within and outside the EU. They gained insights into the nature of business in a specific country and became familiar with forms of operation in foreign markets, legislation, tax and social security burdens, consumer protection, financing, education, and other factors supporting responsible business activities and sustainable development.
The content of the lectures focused in more detail on the following areas:
A specific country and the key factors shaping its role as a member of the European/global economy.
A specific country and its most important common policies within the EU and other groupings.
Selected (relevant) economic policies of a specific country.
Support for entrepreneurship in a specific country.
Consumer protection and food safety.
Tax policy in a specific country.
Social policy in a specific country.
The environment and its protection.
The specific country in relation to the EU budget and funding from the EU or, where applicable, other organizations.
The specific country and its foreign and security policies, including actions
Education in a specific country, particularly in the fields of economics and management.
ESG/corporate social responsibility/sustainable business development in a specific country.
The students responded very positively to the lectures; they had the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with ambassadors and economic diplomats from various European countries, as well as from countries outside the EU, and appreciated the empathetic and professional approach of the speakers, who were:

After the lectures, the students prepared final presentations on their chosen country.
