Summer activities combine academic study with business practice and international partnerships
The summer months of 2026 at the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA) were marked by the development of international partnerships and the integration of academic knowledge with real-world economic practice. The university successfully implemented two prestigious programs with a global scope:
an edition of the Summer School focused on human resource management in the digital age
the annual International Business Consulting Program (IBCP)
Staff members from our Faculty of Business Management (FPM) played an exceptionally active and professional role in the preparation and implementation of both of these key activities, assuming key teaching, mentoring, and expert roles.
Key contributions of FPM staff: Faculty members from the Faculty of Business Management provided the professional and academic oversight for both events. Soňa Ďurišová served as the academic supervisor for the “Managing People in the Digital Era” course at the summer school. Katarína Procházková and Andrea Čambalíková served as academic mentors for the prestigious IBCP consulting program.
Their active approach, professional guidance, and ability to connect students with real-world practice were the cornerstones of the success of both events.
HR Summer School in the Digital Era
From July 20 to 24, 2026, the EUBA Center for International Relations organized the fourth edition of its summer school, which this time focused exclusively on modern trends in human resources management. The event was attended by 19 students from leading partner universities in Hungary and Germany (Budapest University of Economics and Business, Technische Hochschule Augsburg, and University of Applied Sciences Pforzheim). The program was officially opened by Boris Mattoš, Vice Rector for International Relations. The course “Managing People in the Digital Era,” led by Sona Ďurišová from the Faculty of Management (FPM), included lectures and interactive team projects, the results of which the students successfully presented at the end. The academic portion was enriched by an excursion to HENKEL Slovakia s.r.o. and a tour of Bratislava. Participants highly appreciated not only the instructor’s professional expertise but also the overall organizational quality of the entire week.
The 13th Annual International Business Consulting Program (IBCP)
From May 25 to June 12, 2026, the 13th edition of the IBCP program—organized by EUBA in close collaboration with the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse (UWLAX) in the United States—was successfully held. Fourteen students from EUBA and 16 students from the U.S. formed six mixed international teams, in which they worked as business consultants on real-world projects for prominent industry partners. The program was led by Katarína Procházková and Andrea Čambalíková from FPM, together with Christa Kiersch and Christine Ascencio from UWLAX. The students developed comprehensive and innovative solutions for partners such as the U.S. Embassy (support for AI and digital transformation), TPA Slovakia (the Digital Ambassadors program), ING Hubs Slovakia (AI in employer branding and internal communication), IBM ISC (strategic use of AI, global processes, and finance), and Swiss Re (development of cooperation with universities through 2027).
The program also included field trips to Volkswagen Slovakia and Fastenal Europe (Brno) and a rich cultural program (Červený Kameň, Modra, Pezinok, Devín). The event was officially opened by Jana Péliová, Vice Rector for Accreditation and Quality, and students were welcomed at the gala banquet by Boris Mattoš, Vice Rector for International Relations. The event was organized by Soňa Galanová from the Center for International Relations.
