We are proud to share that our colleagues, in collaboration with the Faculty of Business Management, presented new research outcomes from the openMuse project at the EFAM 2025 conference in Slovakia.
OpenMusE – Open Music Europe is an ambitious initiative aimed at building an open, scalable data-to-policy pipeline for European music ecosystems. The vision of the openMuse project is committed to open-source development and transparent policy analysis. This means that anyone in the music industry can freely use, adapt, and contribute to our tools and methodologies, fostering a more inclusive and data-informed future for music in Europe.
The project is driven by two core goals:
* Mapping the Policy and Data Landscape - we analyze the current state of data availability across the music sector, identify critical gaps, and propose relevant indicators that can support evidence-based decision-making for policymakers and businesses alike.
* Bridging Data Gaps with Open Tools to address the lack of accessible data - we are developing innovative tools for data collection and integrating them into open-source software. These tools are designed to be user-friendly and accessible to non-specialists, ensuring that stakeholders of all sizes — from grassroots organizations to national institutions — can benefit.
We are excited to continue this journey and invite all stakeholders to join us in shaping a more open, collaborative, and sustainable music ecosystem.
